How to get involved in MPHSO
Executive Board Responsibilities

 

 

To join the MPH Student Organization, all you have to do is attend our monthly meetings. They are held the second Thursday of every month from 1:45 - 2:30pm (meetings may change) as shown on the event calendar. Even if you do not want to be deeply involved in the organization, you can still come to these meetings and speak with faculty and current MPH students about upcoming events over some coffee and food! Also, you do not have to be an active member of MPHSO to attend any of the MPHSO-coordinated events shown on the calendar - all MPH students are welcome to attend!

 

If you would like to become more involved in MPHSO and have more responsibility as well as a title, attendance at these meetings is required. At the end of the Fall semester, students who are interested in the Presidency position will write a short paragraph on why they should be President. Then, all MPH students will vote for who they would like to be the President of the 2019-2020 MPH Cohort. The winner would become President and would be able to choose his/her VP and will work with other active members of MPHSO to decide who fills the following positions. Listed below are the MPHSO positions and their expected responsibilities.

  • Send out monthly newsletters and weekly updates​

  • Communicate with MPH faculty and staff

  • Facilitate Executive Board meetings

  • Facilitate monthly MPHSO meetings

Vice President(s)

  • Coordinate a volunteering event once per semester​

  • Updates Barb on volunteer hours by sending a poll to MPHSO students

  • Attend monthly MPHSO meetings and record meeting minutes

  • Attend monthly Executive Board meetings

Communications Chair(s)

  • Facilitate social media presence

  • Facilitate mentoring program

  • Attend monthly MPHSO meetings

  • Attend monthly Executive Board meetings and record meeting minutes

Social and Fundraising Chair(s)

  • Coordinate monthly Happy Hours

  • Coordinate intramural sports for MPH students

  • Coordinate fundraising events

  • Facilitate MPH attire

  • Supervise the MPHSO bank account

  • Attend monthly MPHSO meetings

  • Attend monthly Executive Board meetings
